San Diego Comic-Con 2013

San Diego Comic-Con has long been known as the mecca of the u-nerd-verse.  Every year the San Diego Convention Center is invaded by the legions of geeks and huddled masses.  This year proved to be no different as tickets went on sale on February 16th and sold out in a mere 93 minutes.  It just displays the extent of the appeal of geek culture and its reach into the mainstream.

  1. i read about this event in a magazine as well as saw it on tv. Im not to much of a comic fan, however, after seeing pictures of this event it seems to be very interesting. Most people who end up going to this event usually dress up in costumes that represents their favorite comic characters etc.

    1. I've been going to Comic-Con since 2000. It's crazy how much it has grown. Comic are only a small part now. So many big movie and tv studios are there, along with video games and toy companies. Are you going this year? Even if you dont have tickets there is a ton of stuff thats outside the convention center to see and do that doesnt require tickets.

    1. As a big of a geek as I am it pains me to say I have not yet made the holy journey to San Diego Comic-Con. Every year it is so hard to find decent lodging and I tell myself maybe next year.

  3. My son and family live in Long Beach CA and they always go to Comic-Con. They are even taking their very young child with them so she can experience it (they do dress her up too)!!! And yes they are nerdy just like the rest of us in our family, well, most of us. I really do look forward to going one of these years. It is amazing that the tickets sell so quickly, but I'd rather go to Comic-Com than spending money for concert tickets.
